Squish the kitten

Hiya

just looking for some advice on Squish, the smallest of Tilly's kittens - turns out Squish is most likely a she (very inexperienced eyes to is a guess)

She is lagging behind the others a bit, still gains weight every day, playful and beginning to explore the crate now her eyes are open but she's about 2-5g a day behind the others

is that ok? Val has been making sure she gets extra teat time so she is feeding well.

just wondering if this is a vet thing/supplimental feeding thing or leave it as long as she is gaining weight and is active, she may just be a small un?

Re: Squish the kitten

If she is still putting on weight and getting enough milk from Tilly she may just be a smaller kitten. She ought to be gaining around 10g a day but if it is considerably less than that even with extra milk from mum I would consider giving top up feeds.

Re: Squish the kitten

will ask Val to bring some over

am not allowed near the kittens personally at the moment due to mystery allergy - have got to limit exposure to the world as Doc put me on heavy immuno-suppressants

she put on 9.5g yesterday - Fat Bum gained 14.5g the lil porkypuss - the others inbetween

Re: Squish the kitten

9.5g is fine even though the other piglets are putting on that bit more Tell her to keep monitoring the situation and making sure little Squish is getting her fair share.
Hope you sort out your mystery allergy soon

Re: Squish the kitten

she's still gaining weight and is very lively

made a run for it today when the crate was being cleaned out and was caught when about to disappear under the sofa - lil minx found the *only* gap between towels used to block the gaps under the furniture
