Ever since the kittens were born one of them was smaller than the rest and over this week she hadn't been putting on any weight, on the vets advise I have been supplementing her with kitten formula on top of her milk from Iggy as for some reason she wasn't getting enough or maybe there was just something else wrong with her but unfortunatley she passed away today
Also the other kittens have developed kind of gunky eyes but this seems to be under contol at the moment with treatment.
Things like this just make me angry as she shouldn't have been got pregnant in the first place and especially then passed to another home. Maybe im wrong but to have a stillborn and also loose a kitten in the same litter isn't normal and I suspect maybe Iggy wasn't ready to have kittens for whatever reason or maybe there was something else up.

On a lighter note the kittens are 3 weeks old today, I think there are 2 girls and a boy so at the moment they are called Simba, Narla and Kiara however I may well be wrong so the names might have to change!
I tried giving them food today so I crushed up kitten food and mixed it with the kitten formula to form a paste lke substance. The kittens just walked in it but Iggy enjoyed it

Sad news about the little one but you did as much as possible to help him. I hope the remaining little ones continue to thrive and give you much joy watching them grow

Absolutely heartbreaking when that happens. So sorry. Hope the others continue to do well.

So sorry to hear that the little one didn't make it It's always sad to lose one whatever the age but I am sure everything was done to help it to thrive - sometimes it just isn't enough
Hope the others continue to do well - they're still young to be starting to eat solids so no need to worry if they just walk in it. They get a taste by washing it off their paws

It's heartbreaking but there's nothing more you could have done. If you aren't absolutely sure of a due date then they could easily have been overdue which could explain the stillbirth. It's very hard to get one to a few weeks old before losing it and it's pretty rare but it does happen. It makes you question yourself and completely shakes your confidence but you just have to accept that sometimes bad things happen to good people.

Gunky eyes are quite common in kittens. Its due to the mother cleaning their little bottoms and transferring the germs to their faces when she cleans them.
