argghh!

Missie has this morning come back into call she is being kept in and has been since before the kittens were born. Is it safe for me to get her speyed yet as the kittens are only 6 weeks old and i don't want her to call and call as she usually calls for 6 days then a week to 10 days later starts again. So she could have another 3 call cycles between now and when the kittens go
poor baby!

what do you all think? I feel so sorry for her she is wandering the whole time and even trying it on with the dogs

Re: argghh!

Oh what a nightmare, I feel your pain. Mine usually call when the kits are 7 weeks old for some reason. You really need to speak to your vet, I'd say it's too early now though, as she'll very likely not suckle them again, and may reject the kittens completly after. They are not exactly doting when they are on call anyway, but I'd not spay her yet, you have to wait til they're not calling anyway and she would have to not be feeding too or it can be a prob with mastitus after the spay I believe.
It may go colder and darker so she may not call for longer than usual with feeding as well. I know how hard it is with a nursing queen, as you can't make it cold and dark to put her off calling with young kittens needing to be warm and socialised.
Cross your fingers and hope that she doesnt call after this until the kits are much older, but do speak to your vet to check out the exact conditions that they will spay under.

Good luck
