Many people confuse British Short Hair with Domestic Short Hair (moggies in other words) I do think this is most likely to be the case with your cat. It would be unusual for a pregnant cat to come into call so I would consider this a lucky escape and get her spayed. The price varies from vet to vet and area to area so it's best to ring a few and see what they charge. If money is a problem you may be able to get a voucher to cover part of the cost from Cats Protection or a similar organisation.

Actually just looked - and yes she is a domestic short hair - a moggy - I used to get confused and can remember getting my first cat and the vet wrote DSH and thinking that meant she was a BSH and therefore a pedigree. It's so easy to get wrong.

But please, black kittens are SO hard to place for some reason and an all black cat mated with an all black cat will only produce all black kittens. Please, please, please get her spayed.

Re: cat pregnancy?

Amy you look quite young in your pictures so you probably don't know the ins and outs of these things But please have a look at the link I posted above and perhaps ask your mum to have a read too.

Your girl really should be spayed, then she can enjoy the rest of her days as a much loved pet. Without having contributed to the awful state rescues are in at the moment. As Spid says black and black and white cats/kittens are one of the hardest types of kittens to rehome

If you'd like another black kitten yourself do a massive favour to some little ones in rescue and give one or two of them a home instead ... you could be saving their lives by doing so

Re: cat pregnancy?

I would trust these guy's hun. I have 2 black BSH's so it is possible, but these guy's know their cats. Your cat will be much happier to be spayed rather then going through a very painful call constantly x

What I can't understand is why your mum would be making decisions about your cat? In your other thread you said it is your cat but you are at college during the week and it stays with your mum. Surely if it is your cat your mum should be discussing breeding with you before any potential 'stud' owners?

Get the poor girl spayed! There's enough kittens in rescues as it is!
