What age is too old for a first litter?

I have a soon to be 2 year old Norwegian forest queen (so largish slow maturing breed).

She goes off call as soon as she goes in a basket to go to stud.
I have left her with said stud a couple of times, but with no luck.

I have now got a young stud muffin of my own (in the making he is 20weeks), but obviously he is not going to be 'up for it' until into next year, making my girly 2 1/2 ish.

Would we say that is too old for a maiden ?

Ideas for a repeat visit?

Definitely not too old. He might well be your best option, just leave him in the house if you can, that way you don't have to move the girl at all. The only other option by the sound of it would be to borrow a boy but that isn't necessarily going to be an easy thing to do.
