Re: Shocked at a kitten add i just saw

Liz- Not as far as I'm aware. They asked me if William had been given a clean bill of health minus the fleas and worms when I'd taken him to the vet, and they also asked me about the conditions which I'd seen within the property. I never heard anything else and have seen the same woman advertising kittens and puppies on Gumtree, so even if they have gone round, it doesn't seem to have done much good.

at what your vet said about 6 week old kittens. Never realised I was lucky with William!

Re: Shocked at a kitten add i just saw

My mum took on a 4 week old abandoned kitten and she went on to have really bad ezcema and other nasty skin conditions due to the fact that she didn't have enough of her mothers milk. Apparently my mum heard that the kittens were all dumped in someone's potting shed because the owners Pedigree Burmese cat mated with a non-pedegree ally cat and because they weren't "pure" she dumped them at only 4 weeks old.

I know this has nothing to do with ads in pet shops but let it be a lesson that kittens need to be FULLY weaned so that they don't have life long problems.

Poor India was on steriods and all sorts of medication her whole life.

Re: Shocked at a kitten add i just saw

put that in your advert too

when will people realise that getting a cheap kitten that is too young to leave its mum is much worse than buying a reasonably priced kitten at the correct age. . .

(the price you are offering as actually cheap for a good cat as well! so it's not like you're asking for the world)
