Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Was it the vet that suggested it? If so I would probably wait for when the vet was comfortable. There is nothing against her being spayed now though if the vet is happy (many cats are spayed whilst having caesareans.)

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Hi and thank you, no, not the vet just a friend, just half of me wants to wait a while but both my other old cats are done, I don't want to upset Tinks anymore than she is and don't really know where to post anymore as I haven't posted anywhere else.
Ok, is this wrong, a bit of me wants to know why tinks had so much trouble, is there anything i can do to find out? it's just one of those things that doesn't set well with people like me, i like answers, if you get me? |

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
The only thing I would say is that she can come back into call and then she will have hormones and, all that sorta stuff going on. Did Tinks have a caesarean, or did she just have help with the last one. if so I'm surprised the vet didnt offer to do it then.
Honestly her being overly affectionate, following you etc are signs that she might have come back into call. I would look to get her done soon personally. Trouble with birthing or trouble with raising? I would say maybe some of the raising trouble is the fact she was moved during pregnancy. Its obviously not ideal, and that couple with a traumatic birth... Birthing is just one of those things, lots of cats can have trouble giving birth, mainly when they are younger. Same as humans and any other animals, sometimes it just doesnt all work well.

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Some vets are reluctant to spay during a caesarean because of the increased risk. Mine won't unless it is really necessary.
I agree, this cat could be calling again, it is several days since Armani died and I doubt if she is looking for him, not after this length of time. As for working out what might have happened, that is difficult. My money would be on some infection and certainly a lot is said about Strep G. Liz |

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Hey hun, hope you're doing ok.
![]() I'm no expert on cats & kittens by a long chalk but this is Abbys history - she was still suckling her kittens but at 7 weeks decided she'd had enough. The rescue let her out of their shared pen on the Tuesday morning & she refused to go back in. On the Thursday, 2 days later, she was spayed. We got her on the Saturday after that. She had no problems, healed just fine and is a lively, happy very affectionate little girl. I can't comment on the birthing problems but cats are like humans in some ways - some women can pop out babies easy as you please and others will have lots of problems. It's just one of those things that nature decrees and you could drive yourself nana's trying to work out the whys and what-nots. I hope this helps babes. ![]()

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Hi i got a girl who was 5 weeks gestation kittens all moving fine right up to the birth but day of delivery we had 4x still births one live. She seemed to settle well but i put it down to of stress of being rehomed.
I had a girl give birth 4 weeks ago to 8 babies all fine but i lost 4,kitten one on day 2,kitten 2 day 3 kitten 4 day 5.....what seemed to be a perfectly healthy baby although much smaller then the others and i had to keep putting her on the teat as they would push her off.She was 2 weeks old when she died i couldn't understand why.She was growing fine. You just have to put down to that if they were in the wild the kitten most probably would have died sooner,we just prolong it.As we care i did exactly the same thing with my 2 week old kitten.I feel your pain i watched 4 die one after the other it's heart breaking i cryed for days i never get us to it. I also had a cat that lost both her kittens she seemed lost at first but soon got over it dont worry to much, lots of love and cuddles. I do agree get her done as soon as possible as she can come on call 2/3 weeks after giving birth and will continue to do so even more when she is living indoors....this will not be good for her she will lose weight and can even get overian cyst. Dont blame yourself it's nature there is always a reason and that being it most probably had a underline health problem as for the still births if there in the birth canal too long the oxygen suppley gets cut off. Hope this might help a little! |

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Thank you all for your messages, have got an appointment next week to get tinks spayed, she has been very affectionate, I don't believe she has gone into call, though i've never seen her in call, she is only looking in odd places (little cubes/places in furniture etc) not wanting to go outside or doing anything or going anywhere but where she was or might think Armani may be..
Anyway, must post some pics soon of Tinks and my other two cats, will be strange to post anywhere else but this part of the forum as you have all offered me so much support though! Tinks gets on well with my big fat Norwegian Forest Cat who is almost 10, a black and white Garfield, badly neglected though by me these last few weeks and just had to cut a lump of knotted fur off him ![]() Sadly I haven't fussed him enough the last few weeks and how quickly did that happen!!! He is called Furby, he jumps on Tinks and play fights with her, very sweet he is a monster I will try get some pics up xx |

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Hi Pippa, I have been thinking about you and Tinks, so when i saw your thread it was nice to see you back with us
![]() Cannot offer any advice with the spaying, but you have had some advice on that. Just wanted to say that Tinks will be ok and so will you ![]() She may seem lost for a while as are you, but you have each other and your bond is unbreakable now. Sometimes if you post on cat chat, more members will see it, tend to find that is the case, unless the thread is specifically health problems or nutrition, post on there. Big hugs coming to you and Tinks Kelly xx

Re: Upset-Tinks/ Armani
Hi Pippa,
nice to hear from you again. My friends Maine coon lost her 5 kittens, not long ago, she spent a couple of days very quiet, then after 2 weeks went in to call again, as my friend is a new breeder, the girl was put away from her boys, even though the boys are not ready yet, (her girl was pregnant from a studding). She has now settled down, but she is making sure the newest member of te clan is learning her manner. My friend is just the same, but there is really no way of knowing these things sometimes, she also felt/feels that she did somthing wrong, but as you said he was to beautiful for this world. Some times things happen in the life that makes us stop and think. maybe Armarni came at this point in your life to make you stop and think, Angels come in many forms. Tinks to me sounds like a girl that likes to know what is what, I have a solid blue MC, and when i moved he spent a time in to everything, sorry i have a kitten trying to type for me. wow this is all mixedup. Tinks to me sounds like a typical MC, nosey lol. The vet will tell you when is best to have Tinks spayed, I have just had Nim spayed (last thursday) and she is fine,
