Re: Litter Training

They are mean't to. My Girl didn't. I noticed them going in the corner of the room. Had lots of litter trays about! Got some cat attract litter and whenever they looked liked they wanted the loo I picked them up and put them on the tray while mum slept on. Leave some of their wee tiny but of poop in the tray/s so they remeber. They soon got the hang of it!

Re: Litter Training

my babies all sleep in a cage at night with mum and i have never had to train a kitten yet to use the tray as mum goes in it does her business and the kittens watch her so they follow suit as they get older and run riot around my home i have trays so they can still use them on the odd occasion they have got a bit excited and forgot where the tray was

all mine are in a pen with mum too - so im hoping that will be the case!

Mum is used to a hooded litter, but thats too big for babies. They have a small one - do you think mum will use it or will she look for her other hooded litter?
Mum has access to get in and out the pen without kittens escaping and Im worried she will poop in the room rather than the litter - or am I worrying for nothing?

mine had show sized litter trays and mum had her hooded ones, the kittens used that and mum used both lots and made a right mess.

Re: Litter Training

Just make sure she's aware of where it is hun and i'm sure she will go and use it if she wants xx

Oh and Eva's litter only used their trays for a week or so before they decided mum's ones were so much better - by the end of the next week they were climbing in and out of her trays in twos having pees together LOL!!! xx
In hindsight i should have got photo's x

Don't worry too much hun honestly xx

Re: Litter Training

With Tabitha's five fur babies I noticed two were eating some solid food just as I was on my way to work. I quickly put each in turn in the litter tray and gently moved their paws back and forwards. They all used their tray and I never even had one 'accident' - I was very impressed with them all

I guess maybe they had been watching Tabitha and perhaps my very brief 'lesson' just reinforced that the tray was the place to 'go'.

I took Mum's usual hooded tray away and gave them a very large flat one to share so they could watch her. They all started to get in after her and use it from 3 -4 weeks
