Re: C-Sections

Alice had to have a caesar with her first litter, but that was not because she couldn't give birth, it was because she had a passed a kitten that had died off, some time before and had rotted completely - it was awful Everything had been contained until the birth process had broken the bag. I knew something was up with the kitten as the placenta came out first and looked dry and odd. Took her to the vets who examined her and felt inside said the kitten wasn't stuck and she would pass it normally. Which she did at 4 am in the morning - horrendous sight. Although clear fluid followed him/her, by the morning she had pus pouring from her, straight back to the vet who performed a caesar, flushed her out and rescued the remaining baby, who was luckily tucked up in her other horn. They didn't expect him to live, but he did but thats a whole other story. More importantly she was completely fine too.

Alice had 2 other litters after that normally, but each time her milk didn't come in for a week (helped the second time with homeopathy much earlier and it worked) and she had a still born kitten in each litter, so she was spayed.
