Re: Loosing a Queen During Labor

I'm so sorry about your girl Liz.

It is also my biggest fear to lose a girl in this way.

Re: Loosing a Queen During Labor

I still think I couldn't live with that fear. Maybe if I was older and wanted to breed i wouldn't be so worried I don't know. Only tonight I heard how a breeders girl had a womb infection and thus the babies died and mum was very poorly. I couldn't risk this but admire all the breeders who do for without them I would be without my precious babies.

He was in grave danger of being struck off after a few similar incidents, but I'm not sure whether he was actually struck off or not.

Re: Loosing a Queen During Labor

It happened to a friend of mine once, the cat had 8 kittens and just dropped down dead, there had been no indications of any health problems and it was her second litter.
Luckily my friend is a nurse and she and her husband tube fed and reared all 8.

OMG how awful! That must have been a nightmare. All credit to your friend for having gone through a tragedy and managing to raise 8 babies too.
