Re: Help me decide which type of Kitten.
Have you actually met first hand either of these breeds? That I'm sure would help you decide which may be for you much better than listening to other peoples preferences, opinions and bias
Contact some breeders in your area and ask if you can ask about their breeds and maybe meet them and their adult cats. If they are genuine and you are too, I am sure they will be happy to help you in any way they can. Good luck ![]() If you are considering a moggie/crossbred Ragdoll, remember that is another "can of worms" as far as health testing goes. Better go to local rescue and adopt one of the many gorgeous adult rescue cats sitting waiting for homes ![]()

Re: Help me decide which type of Kitten.
Hi thanks for you reply!
Yes my friend has both a Bengal and a Ragdoll! Infact i havent seen them in about 6 month and im going over to see them tomorrow to have a cuddle with them ![]() Her Bengal is a bit stand offish and doesnt like being played with so much and she says can be hard work. Her Ragdoll has the loveliest nature and exactly what i want i just cant convince my boyfriend on a long haired cat. Ragdolls don't come with short hair do they? ![]() |

Good luck in choosing the right cat for yourself. Remember to do your best to research the breed you decide upon and only buy from health tested parents.

Re: Help me decide which type of Kitten.
ragdolls arent a long hair cat they are a semi long hair, although they do need brushing and do moult, contary to many adverts that I read!!
laidback friendly outgoing, most people wont sell 1 to full time workers they like to be with you playful love company, also need to buy from a good breeder or you can have many problems. parents must be HCM tested. my post from another thread on bengals: who are you getting one from? as they should be able to tell you everything that you need to know? She should also ask you lots of questions etc bengals are outgoing (very) vocal (very) follow you everywhere, bond strongly normally to 1 owner, dont, like to be without them, they play 24/7, very nosy, naughty and learn things quick (normally the naughty stuff...) love their meat food. dont really like being picked up (some do) not lap cats (Although my bengal kittens i bring up are) wouldnt really leave them alone if you have a full time job, they need lots of toys / cat posts love getting up high, get 2 if you can, nothing like their own kind for company, a bengal understands a bengal more than a human or any other cat, siblings are best, bonded for life. not a cat for the faint hearted or new cat owner really, unless you have researched and can be dedicated to your bengal, they arent easy. the water debate - some play in it some dont, ive only had 1 litter that jumped in the shower with me! the others didnt like water. most liuke water fountains, but then most cats do. if you can get past all of this you have a strong bond and friend for life p.s. check out the llinks in my sig of my bengal girl 'talking' and imagine that 24/7 and i MEAN 24/7 http://www.youtube.com/user/carameld.../3/Ir0u7UpYSv0 http://www.youtube.com/user/carameld.../8/vjfplr1BEtY (3min 20secs onwards ) thats my post from the other thread, they are also sold as indoor cats,Be expected to pay for a good kitten from a Good breeder, bad kitens Esp bengals end up vicious and nasty and in rescue, rescue currently full with bad breeders kittens.

Re: Help me decide which type of Kitten.
Hi
Yes i will be buy from a reputable Breeder and am willing to pay a good price. I am aware of their costs as am looking into them a lot. I want to know everything before i purchase. I think the ragdoll is the one for us personally as we would like a laid back cat with a bit of character. My boyfriend works full time but i dont i work part time so would still be around a lot. Any other breeds people recomend that are loving and love cuddles ![]() |

Re: Help me decide which type of Kitten.
Taylor baby
I just watched your video Tummy Rub and that Ragdoll is stunning. Not to fluffy at all i think i could convince the boyfriend with a cat as stunning as that! Some though are massive and fluffy! Is there anyway knowing if they will be less or more fluffy when they grow up. Thanks ![]() |

Re: Help me decide which type of Kitten.
Remember - crossing breeds does not mean you automatically get the best of each breed. You could end up with a semi long haired or fluffy cat with a Bengal personality/temperament!!

Re: Help me decide which type of Kitten.
I'm not a breeder, but just wanted to let you know how delighted we have been with our 2 Burmese brothers. We've had them for 6 years now and we couldn't ask for more loving cuddly, devoted cats.
They are very active though, so wouldn't do if you were looking more for a sedate, lying around sort of cat. They are also very intelligent and need lots of attention/playing with. If you don't give them attention when they think you should, they walk across the mantlepiece, swiping ornaments on to the floor, miaowing as loudly as they can, looking at you all the time to make sure you've seen what they're up to! Very naughty - but all our visitors say what super characters they are and they've never quite known cats like them. Sometimes I think they believe they're dogs not cats, they follow you around the house like puppies and want paper balls or socks throwing so they can retrieve them. We get fed up of the game long before they do! ![]() ![]() They've been SO good with the children when they were younger, playing for hours, then cuddling up with them when they sat down or went to bed. We have to shut them in the kitchen at night, sad, I know, but otherwise we'd never get any sleep because they insist on burrowing under the duvet and cuddling up down the bed. It's Burmese for me, they're the love of my life xx Forgot to say, Burmese are short haired, if your BF is objecting to a longer haired breed. We originally went for Burmese because I'm asthmatic.
