lost kittens

hi there

i am looking for some advice, i took in 2 unwanted cats back in early december and was told i was taking on 2 female cats.......one was male as soon as w3e found out the male was taken and neutered unfortunately it was to late for my female .

She started to have all symptoms of pregnancy-swollen nipples, sickness, become very detached with us but became very attached to my 5yr old daughter. She was definately pregnant as she had hard lumps which she would not have had if it had been a "Phantom pregnancy". Beginnnig of last week she dramatically changed sahpe she had grown outwards, then all off a sudden woke up one morning and the outward lumps had gone they were all underneath her. Myself and my partner spend alot of time out of the house throughout the day, he works i have 2 young children so always in and out school runs etc etc, we did notice any outwardly strange behaviour. Then Saturday evening my partner was out and the female cat came and sat on my lap, she lay belly up, the lumps were gone just very soft raised nipples so i assumed she had had kittens, however despite my searches i cannot find them!! i believe she had them no earlier than thursday night!! I have rang a vets and been told that this par for the course that i cannot find them, and despite my looking she may well move them a number of times when the house is empty/quiet to keep them protected, she does dissappear but it is little and often, when i follow her when she starts to slope off, she stops in her tracks and just sits staring at me!!! She is an inddor cat so i know that they cannot be outside somewhere.

Any advice????

Re: lost kittens

It did disappear for some time last night but was reinstated. However it is now in the health and nutrition section for some bizarre reason.
