anyone registering kittens?

I have just registered my lot and was informed that GCCF are putting their prices up and everything received from December 28th (I'm pretty sure that was the date) will be treated as January and will be at the new price She didn't say how much the new prices were but I expect they will be on the website soon (not on yet, I checked)

I've not heard anything
Do you still have to pay £5 to reg a litter before you reg each kitten individually?

£5 for the litter. £8 each kitten for prefix registration - more if you don't have a prefix

lol

We all know why we register kittens but it's criminal that they're putting it up again. And you can bet that 90% of those little pink slips are still sat in the folder, cat STILL in the breeder's name because the owner never bothered with the transfer I did my own little mini survey the year before last and most people said "oh, we didn't bother... should we?". Never mind

Forgive me for being dense , but could someone explain why the pink slip should be transferred from the breeder to the new owners name. What are the benefits? Sorry if this is a dumb question!!

Re: anyone registering kittens?

That's not a dumb question - I ask myself the same sometimes Someone will probably have answered already by the time my frozen fingers can type this... I don't suppose it really *does* matter if the new owner never transfers the cat into their name. Main concern for breeders is that if they simply declare (which is an option breeders can take and doesn't cost a penny) individual kittens on the litter registration form they fill out, they have to provide the new owner with other certain paperwork (won;t bore you with that) which means that the new owner can register the kitten themselves on the active (for breeding) register when the breeder explicitly sold the kitten as a pet.

The system is far from perfect and you can never stop anyone from ultimately doing whatever they want.
