feel so down :( do other breeders get this way?

my favourite kitten just went, to a great home but I feel so empty that Im sitting here crying, I really wanted to keep him but I know that I cant keep them all

The partner said to give up, I said that I didnt want to I just find it hard sometimes especially when you bond, hoping to keep 2 next year so will hopefully get to keep my babies, my lap is soo cold now

I think you'll find it's quite common. I have a favourite here, only 3/4 pedigree, not part of my outcross programme but simply an accident, so I have no possible justification to keep her, but I confess she does not feature on any of my ads (my husband thinks I've advertised them all...)

Sending some hugs to cheer you up ((())) Hope you get lots of updates on how your baby is doing
I get to see lots of pictures of my special boy from my last litter as his 'mum' is a Facebook friend and only lives a couple of miles away.

I think the fact you care so deeply about your kittens is testament to your devotion as a breeder When you have bred, raised, nutured and loved these little ones it is only natural to miss them when they go.

I have to be honest and admit that even though we only planned to keep the one female from our litter (picked out within an hour of being born), we ended up keeping her brother as well. He was the odd one out of the litter - the only black kitten in a litter of blues, and a complete hooligan too, but he's got a purr like a jet engine.

Re: feel so down :( do other breeders get this way?

lol still have 2 ktis here but it seems SO quiet even with my lot, it feels weird!

had 2emails today and 2calls from the people who took the boy yesterday and the one who went on sat

all happy and wanted to put my mind at rest, bless them! little fatty is still a fatty and a moaner...he did love his food! and the other one is exploring, so proud of them, owners and kits!

you are there for the brith, first breath, first toddle, first food, first poop! lol feel like they are mine not the mummy cats!

like a parent whose love dissapears when they turn into un-rooli teenage hooligans!!
