pregnant????......

hi all, i got a new cat yesterday.
she is approximatly 1 years old.

after the people dropped her off to me they text me saying that she had 4 kittens 4/5months ago and she could 'possibly' be pregnant now.
they don't know, said she spent time in the garden but not for long and not overnight.

she is of slim build, her belly is hard, but not looking pregnant, her nipples are pink like when my cat was pregnant but cant remember how long after they went down, her hair is sparse on her belly and her nipples are very noticeable. she is not showing any signs of being in heat.

my question is if she is pregnant how far along could she be, is it possible to work it out after the information I have given you?

I will take her to the vets Wednesday for worming, micro chip and to have her checked over and see what they say.

she is a stunning pure white moggie and has a lovely temperament.

Re: pregnant????......

Well yes it does sound possible. Prominent nipples plus not visibly pregnant suggests to me a small litter with the cat at least 5 weeks gone.

But your vet should be able to tell you yes or no, as long as the cat is at least 3 weeks gone.

Re: pregnant????......

how sad poor girl Id ask the vets she sounds as though she is geting ready to give birth again, just after her last litter, I wonder why they are giving her away she might have had trouble with her last birth, why people dont neuter their pets ill never know.

Re: pregnant????......

The nipples don't get smaller, but they do seem less obvious in between litters - to me, anyway.

Rebs is on a distinguished road
Re: pregnant????......

I suppose if she is pregnant and once she's weaned the kittens and she's been spayed her nipples will go down. You can hardly see/feel any of my females nipples unless you peel their fur apart and poke at the tiny dots haha.

Once you take her to the vet s/he should know and have an idea on how far along she is. Either way good luck and if she is going to have kittens I wish you the best of luck finding homes!

Congratulations on your new addition - your vet should be able to answer your questions at the health check - who knows you might have more than ONE little cat to care for xxx

not wanting to pinch the thread but how soon after giving birth (in weeks/days) can a cat become pregnant again??
