Re: ideas of how to make birth box comfortable?

noo some just dont get being a mum do they?

That reminds me of my first litter, she had 8 (shock to me!) andwe had a big box in the room with her full of bits & bobs right away in the corner, at about 3 days old I walked into the room and all the kits were gone!

I was like OH MY GOD!!!

Started searching the house first! Why I dont know as mum had managed to move all 8 kits into this giant box! How she managed to climb with kit in mouth was amazing in itself!

she did it the same day & the next day but we moved the box out after!

Re: ideas of how to make birth box comfortable?

For Lilys 2nd litter we had various boxes made up for her in our bedroom, she moved them about for 2 days eventually standing at the door with a kitten in her mouth - I gave in eventually and let her out to see where she wanted to go with it and she went straight to my sons room and set up bed at the end of his bed, They stayed there from then on. She was happy as Larry

Hope you are lucky and she stays in her box

Re: ideas of how to make birth box comfortable?

Cotton moved all but one of hers underneath my new bed. It's quite low to the ground so you have quite a job trying to get under it. I went in because the kittens had woken me up by crying (little did I know they were underneath me!) and I could only see one I foolishly thought she'd ate them
