overheard at the vets

I have been at the vets for afew days now with my old boy, first day I saw 2 staffies fight, I mean a real fight to, was awful, and they were sisters.

Today I had the miss fortune of listening to 2 women, first lady said she bought a cat for £80 and cant believe she spent that much as they arent worth it, she found that the 'best thing' to do was to let it have kittens to get her money back, 1st litter was at 6months as she 'couldnt keep her inside' 2nd litter at 11months and she is now on her 3rd litter as she cant manage to keep her indoors.

I was just about to butt in and say 'spay her!!!' when her mate said 'oh i have silver bengal, she looks so wild i let her roam about outside, im shocked no one has stolen her yet, she keeps having kittens but they are born inside out and dont last the night, we ended up giving her away

I was soooo shocked I really wanted to say something but whats the point?

What stupid things have you overheard?

Re: overheard at the vets

I really don't understand people who don't have their cats spayed or neutered...if you don't intend to breed from them then why wouldn't you, especially cats which go outdoors! It is so irresponsible!

Hope your old boy is ok

Re: overheard at the vets

Once while i was sitting in the vets a lady came in to register her puppy. when she was asked what breed her puppy is she said it was either a Great dane, mastiff or boxer but wasnt sure which one but it was definatly a pure breed.

Re: overheard at the vets

Thankfully never heard someone say anything like this! I wouldn't hold my tongue if I did. I did see a woman whip her dog with its lead when I was driving once. Very nearly did an emergency stop to shout at her but you know, dangerous & all that...

Do you mean seal point Siamese? Or black Oriental? I have a black Oriental and was at the vet last week (again), but it looks like we're miles and miles apart so perhaps it wasn't my kitty
