Re: Weaning

Nope, I don't understand why. I'm taking one of the kittens, but I'm having him for free, as I've been sorting out their worming etc, organising my kittens jabs and neutering, I'm not sorting out the others.

Re: Weaning

Yup they are... but only once a day apparently. Well, the thing is, is that I don't want to be paying for the others.

Considering our landlord won't let us take him, so we won't be able to take him from the home until July 2011, so he'll be 7ish months old. Unless I try to find an affordable place to rent which allows cats. The vets I've registered him with, say that they will neuter him between 4 and 6 months old.

Re: Weaning

Well, they're letting the kittens go at around 10 weeks I think. I would prefer to get my own vacs for him to be honest with you. I'm taking him to be neutered asap, but I'll be living with my OH's sister, and as said, her landlady won't let us have pets, so we are trying to look elsewhere

They didn't even realise that the kittens should be wormed. I said to them that I thought it was 2, 5 and 8 weeks (3 day course), but they decided they wanted to worm at 3, 5 and 7 weeks. I just went with it... they hadn't wormed mom during, so I said it would be better earlier, but nevermind. I find it mindboggling... I've researched more about dogs, than cats to be honest though.

The kittens are now 3 and a half weeks old, I'm not sure when you're supposed to start litter training them, or if mom trains them...

Re: Weaning

worming panacur paste 3,6,9,weeks i do 3 day course & do mum at the same time.

litter training starts at 4 weeks, about 15-20 times day i put them in the tray after food/sleep/play/random times and dig with front paws, keep them crated over night only for a week while doing this, longest its taken me to litter train has been 5-7 days. after that they follow mums lead.

id tell them to read up on it should know this BEFORE the cat gets prengant not after

Re: Weaning

I know. I finished their first 3 days course on Thurs... so at 3 weeks old, with panacur I did mom, but only once, as I wasn't sure.

I lent them my crate, as the dog isn't down until Nov, but she's no longer crated. I've also said, as they've started to walk, to let them have a roam around, but they don't want to, as her nephews are around, but tbh, they love to help, and stay clear of the kittens, and only hold them on the floor once they've asked.

Will talk to them about it, and I agree that they should've read up on it tbh, I mean, she told me that PJ was pregnant a good 6 weeks before they arrived, so... I weighed them when I got home from work, when they were around 2 hours old, but I gave them the piece of paper... not sure where they put it...
