Re: Any Burmilla breeders here?

Oh wow really
Well this is the 1st time i encountered the breed to be honest ( i don't know how )
The one i met is at the rescue centre where i work and he is just stunning, unfortunately he doesn't like other cats so that rules me out of bringing him home
As a breeder you obviously love them too, do you find them to be quite good natured? this cat was exceptionally cuddley and just hung round your neck like a baby, bless him.
I've been reading about them and it seems the majority do get on with other animals too, i have my heart set on getting 1, some day!
By the way my partner lives in huddersfield, at least there are genuine good breeders nearby, i was worried most of them were few and far between! Which i guess is true to a certain extent.

Crumbs, I hope he's not one I bred!

Yes, that sounds about right. My particular love is the semi-longhaired version which we call the Tiffanie.

Oh i hope he isn't one of yours too, shame whoevers he is to be honest!
He is 6 years old and called Zeebadee, he lived with his brother ( possibly sister) i believe but was spraying up the walls, fighting with the other one and kept getting stolen by neighbors ? it all sounds abit weird but that is the story his old owners gave apparently.

Here is a pic of him http://www.battersea.org.uk/images/a...8_zeebadee.jpg
The photo doesn't really do him justice, but this type is my favorite with the shorter coat.

Re: Any Burmilla breeders here?

Well if he's six years old he won't be one of mine, I was on an enforced gap from breeding at that time and although I kept a line ticking over, I wasn't registering any of them, I was just giving them away. But someone somewhere will have bred him and would be very upste at the thought of him being in rescue. I wonder, if the neighbours kept "stealing" him, why the owners didn't just let the neighbours have him, since they obviously wanted to rehome him anyway. How odd!

Anyway, he looks like a brown shaded silver to me, and with quite a short coat (mine are early generations and are a bit longer coated than that). Here's the first one I bred, Ch Huggibear Silversand. He died about four years ago and I miss him still.

Re: Any Burmilla breeders here?

We had a Lilac Silver Shaded Burmilla (Nanook or Rossicat Little Houdini) to be precise!! There are pics of him on my page.

He was fantastic and very very loving and snuggly.

When he died I contacted Naomi Johnson of Vervain (where his decendents were from) - within an hour of meeting her Asian litter we were hooked and now we pander to every 'Nermul' need!!

Even though he is a Brown ticked Asian, the personalities are exactly the same, just the colourings of the Asians are different, so if you struggle to find yourself a Burmilla, I suggest checking out Vervain Cats and possibly try an Asian - you wouldnt regret it!
