How much should they be eating?

The kittens are very hungry these days. They've already had 2 tins of feline fayre tuna as well as milk from Cotton.

Is it possible to overfeed them?

They've learnt now that when I go in the kitchen it's usually because I'm doing food so they follow behind me, sit by my legs and cry

if they want it give it them is my take on it my 2 were massivly underweight when i got them and they turned unto food monsters for a while and now they are a really healthy weight.

i wouldnt restrict them whilst they are kittens they need as much food and nutrients for the rapid growth they have in the first few months.

Re: How much should they be eating?

Thanks I've noticed they've undergone a massive growth spurt lately. They won't eat biscuits yet so I am sneaking it in with their wet

as long as they get a complete wet food ( and enough of it ) they dont really need the biccys anyway

I agree
I would doubt you can overfeed them, I would leave dry food on its own down all the time so they can choose to eat when they want and also have their wet food at mealtimes. I have never managed to get any of mine to eat "wet" dry food.

Once they have stopped growing you can restrict their feeding if they are getting fat, but I would not do that whilst they are growing. Even "teenage" cats ie over a year can still have a high energy requirement depending on the breed.

me too... can hardly ever get kittens to eat "wet" dry food. And to be honest, I can't blame them. Unless it's eaten more or less immediately it becomes like one big solid mass that you'd need a knife to break up! Whether I mix it with water, kitten milk or wet food, it just becomes horrible.

also agree about it being impossible to overfeed a kitten... I leave biscuits down all the time, and portions of wet as often as time will allow me.

I don't wet the dry, just mix it in with the tin food
