Question post birth toileting issues!!

Hi all havent been on here for a while hope all is well.
i have a problem. My cat Tabby had her kittens 8 weeks this coming Sunday and over the past 2 weeks or so she has started weeing out of the litter tray. Firstly she weed on my bed (as that is where her and kittens are kept) then a few days later agian on my bed in the same spot. All in all she has done it on there in the SAME SPACE each time about 5 times in the past couple of weeks the last time being yesterday. Also she weed on the kitchen floor 3 times yesterday and i came down this morning to see that she had done it AGAIN.
Im a bit confused as to why she has started doing it? i mean there is a ltter tray in my room for her and the kittens to use and cleaned regularly as i can stand the smell and one down stairs in the kitchen as she is not going out until she she has been done. but since the day i got her she has NEVER weed or pooed anyway but the litter tray.
i was just wondering if its somethin that they do post birth or wether she is just being a little bugger.
also i think that she is back on heat too.
sorry its a bit of a long one thanks in advance for any help or advice all will be gratefully received.xxxx

your going to have to keep her in until you can get her spayed.
your cat will keep calling now until she is.

you need to wash your duvet in BIO powder to remove her wee smell or she will keep on doing it - you may also need to wash and turn ur mattress incase it went though.

id also get her checked by the vet if this random weeing isnt normal for her she may have developed cysitus.
also make sure her litter tray is ultra clean maybe get a few more incase the reason for her weeing is because she dont like sharing with the kittens.

if you only have one tray think about how smelly it must be for her sharing with other furrys .

thats all i can think of there may be more people that can help

my advice tho is to get her to a vet asap as if it is a urinary infection it can become dangerous quickly.

Re: post birth toileting issues!!

Hi, Your feline is normal,
I have been breeding for six years and run a professinal cattery and grooming parlour. The mother sometimes wee around or near the litter tray to attract the kittens to the right place to wee.

Also just outside where they sleep, this is to show the kittens it is not acceptable to soil where they sleep and that they should get up and leave the bedding area. It is unfortunate that this is your bed, you might aswell buy a new quilt as a cats scent is one hundred times better than ours and she will still smell it, after it has been through the wash, a cat will mark its scent naturally, and despite days and days of rain they still can smell it, believe me washing it will not work, turn your matress even if you think it never made it through and change your quilt,

Place some paper where she is weeing outside the litter tray, when she wees on it tear it up and put it in the litter tray the kittens will follow the paper. If you need any further advice regarding your kittens just let me know. If you look at my album you will see some of my kittens, I am not an expert on cats, but I have had a lot of experience and deal with them on a daily business, I also have regular contact with vets and there practices.
