Litter Weight Chart

Hi All

When you weigh your new kittens daily and record their weight - how long does it need to be done for. Is it the whole 13 weeks?? Or is it just for a few weeks daily and then switch to weekly?

Thanks!

Re: Litter Weight Chart

I weighed mine for about 3 weeks til I was assured they were thriving and gaining weight, i guess it all depends on the situation.

Re: Litter Weight Chart

I weigh them daily for the first 4 weeks, after that i find it a little more difficult, they dont keep still and tip out of my scales!eek: i should invest in some bigger ones really.
after 4 weeks i weigh them about twice a week for as long as possible.
once they have had there 1st vaccination and health check i stop weighing them.
hope this helps
lovely website by the wayxx

Re: Litter Weight Chart

I try to do the same as Jens - daily up to about 5 weeks, then twice weekly up to weaning/6 or 7 weeks then at the vets when they are 9 weeks and I try to persuade the vet to weigh them again on their last health check and vaccination at 12 weeks.

Re: Litter Weight Chart

I used to stick my kittens in a jug when they were older to weight them they sit in it and just take the weight of the jug off. My Vet does it so I copied!
