GCCF Breeders

Hi All

For all you breeders that register your litters with the GCCF - can you tell me how long it takes for the registration papers to come back when you register the litters?

Thanks

Yeah that's why we don't bother with them and use TICA, too much red tape.

WHAT???!!!!

I've registered a couple of cats recently and I seem to recall it was a couple of months BUT that was an unusual situation, one was over two years old so it had to go to the executive committee which meant it took longer.
With the kitten we bought back in March, we had the documents back in time for a show we had entered on April 12th - but only just. I guess that means it took abotu seven weeks as the breeder had applied for registration shortly before we purchased the kitten.

All of which makes one wonder why the GCCF specify that the papers should be handed over at the time of sale, since that would mean you would have to register your kittens at about four weeks of age when colours might still be unclear and there is still some risk of death.

Liz

Very true Liz. The reason I ask is because the breeder of one of mine still hasnt given me the papers as she has not got them back yet. I didnt know if it was her not being organised or the GCCF being their usual slow self.

Re: GCCF Breeders

When I used to register my babies with GCCF it would typically take between 3-4 weeks. I did once get papers back a fortnight later though so it isin't always that slow.

I've transfered kittens into my name and it's taken less than 1 week.
And, as I said it took 3 weeks for the kitten reg to come through.

You could get the breeder to write you out a blue form. Fill it out and then the transfer paper will come straight to you, already in your name when it's ready. Obviously send your £9 with it.
Good tip fluff thanks - didnt know u could do that!
If i ask her though she will just get cross and tell me to be patient

Re: GCCF Breeders

I think it depends also to some extent on the time of year - obviously some months are busier than others - I have had my registrations come through in as little as two weeks but usually it is around 3 weeks.
