A problem with queen
Tonight after having been on the phone to a friend I came back into the room to find one of the kittens missing out of the box, the smallest of the four (will be 4 weeks old on Saturday). I searched everywhere in a panic and found him behind the sofa eventually. I put him back in with the others.
About 10 minutes ago Lily the queen walked past me with the same kitten again and looked to be taking him back to the same place where I found him before I stopped her. A bit strange as she's never done this before. ![]() ![]()

Re: A problem with queen
If its the weakest of the litter its just her instincts....You will have to keep putting the kitten back and fingers crossed she will still nurture and feed the kit....if she doesnt then you will have to hand feed. I think for now just keep an eye on the kit and keep putting her back and make sure she is feeding. x

Re: A problem with queen
Yes I have heard of that one but in this case I don't think it could be that.
This particular queen has always been clingy and protective of all her kittens, even the ones that it was obvious wouldn't survive at birth. I have taken the other three out and left her with this kitten and she is washing him and letting him feed at the moment and I am going to do this regularly over the next 24 hours and see how it goes.

Re: A problem with queen
Oh dear, I hope everything is okay with this little one. Sounds like you have a good system going to try and get the kitten fed, but maybe have some formula milk on hand just incase.
