Here are some pictures from Aus!

Enjoy the birdies! The Eclectus parrot is a friend of mines! His name is 'Chookin' My husband Karl is enjoying his chat with him!

And the Cockies are from a bird park, and i'm getting licked on the nose by one! hehe!

I would also love a parrot but I'm afraid I will be waiting a while before I get one! I would love a cockatoo but you need alot of time for them and I will be working over 40 hours a week as I just got a job! Sooo not much time for a parrot that needs consitency. But definatly when I retire!!! (well i'm 20 so it's a LONG TIME AWAY!) hehe!

Re: Australian birds - Pics from home

i had an african grey n he hated the kids so he had to go he did bite megan once so that was it, i didnt have him from a baby he was 7 years old when i got him and had lived with an lady with no family which i think makes all the difference he loved me n hated EVERYONE else, i would love another in a few years time when the kids are old enough to know to respect him and id have a baby this time so he could be socialised with a family

Re: Australian birds - Pics from home

pics are great.
we have a wee kakarikis(small parrot), which hails from your country and new zealand. she's brilliant.
what i find really unusual is she likes to be clapped like a dog does, right from her head down to the end of her tail, so funny. she won't let us pick her up. she also licks my nose and also tries to grab it, not that i look like cyrano de bergerac in any way,
she has laid 2 batches of eggs since arriving here 6 months or so ago, we are her 2nd owner. she wasn't happy in her 1st home, didn't get along with the other birds, budgies and finches. her 1st owners said she was around 18 months old, she is still a wee baby herself. we take the eggs away from her straight away as they are not fertilised. she isn't noisy, but loves having fun. she gets on great with my 15 year old cockateil and my 6 years old dog.
nice to meet you.
enjoy your time on the pf. ttfn
