Re: Hi, my birds.
They are so sweet, I have 4 hand reared linnies, sadly just recently they have started fighting though ;o(, I've had to seperate one of them who is also on anti biotics as he now has an infected sere due to the fighting.
They are all bros and sisters and only hatched in June, I'm gutted. I'm playing it by ear that they might start getting on ok again soon once his sere has cleared up and healed.

Re: Hi, my birds.
Hi, is it easy breeding them?
Mine are about a year and half and I have no nestbix in there, luckily no signs of eggs at the minute. What a shame that you had to seperate them. How are they getting on now?

Re: Hi, my birds.
Linnies are very easy to breed if you definately have a pair
![]() Just put a nest box in the cage with some nesting material and I'm sure you won't have to wait long. The only thing I will say is that if you do let them breed what will you do with the babies? Once they start to ween the parents will start to chase them away, even start attacking them. So you will need to either rehome them or keep them in another cage. Make sure the parents have access to plenty of fresh fruit and egg food is also advisable. Good luck

Re: Hi, my birds.
Sorry forgot to say the one i had to separate is doing really well and the infection is now clearing up. I let them out at the same time but still have to cage them separately.
Fingers crossed I'm hoping to re-introduce them once his infection is cleared, I have no guarantees this will work though and will have to keep a close eye on them ![]() I think they are all males, so probably the hormones are starting to kick in ![]()

Re: Hi, my birds.
Hi, thanks for the reply; it's that easy is it?
How long do the eggs take to hatch? and old before they get weened? I might give it a shot. We have had quite a few guinea pig babies over the years and earlier in the year surprise chinchilla babies. My birds are very picky with fruit.
