hen dirty bottom

One of my hens has a large clump of dried fecal matter o her bottom. We removed the clump but there is large, angry swelling beneath the vent. How can I prevent the collection of fecal matter and treat the swelling

Re: hen dirty bottom

A domestic hen?....or hen of another species?
This could be one of many dietary or internal problems...an avian vet would be the best bet in your case.
