mmmmmmmmm , im looking to get a large cage for indoors with a non breeding pair , i was told they dont really breed unless they have breeding boxes , i,d love to hear your advise on this though id like some really brightly coloured birds . thanks love claire xx

failing this i would just get 1 , but really would prefere 2 i have just bought cage from ebay so i'll be ready for birds by next week hope you can help me

I had one lovebird once, He was the only one left int he pet shop and i felt sorry for him ( was sure if it was a girl or a boy so i just called it a him ), I was young at the time and didnt know no better and he was pretty nasty.

Not trying to put you off because they are lovely birds from what ive read and spoken to people who own them now.

and everyone ive spoke to has recommended that 2 would be best and they are very loving birds and need the company.

Love birds dont generally do well as a single they live in large flocks but pair up for life normally.They prefere the company of other birds.

This is what gave them their name "Lovebirds"

They love other lovebird company but don't mix well with other species of birds and can be very aggressive to other species. They can also be very noisey so well suited to avairy life. Unless your neighbours are far away

Afternoon all.

Sorry for wandering in on this thread but I am very new to this forum and haven't worked out which buttons to press where.

I am looking for a love bird / love birds to keep my darling Fischer company. Unfortunately his (I think it's a he) partner passed away six months ago and it seems cruel to keep him on his own especially when I am away in the day time at work.

I live in Market Harborough in Leicestershire (my town is in the middle of Leicester - Northampton).

Could anyone advise me of a suitable place to buy a friend? I've had no luck so far

Have you thought about going to rescue, I know there are some beautiful lovebird just waiting to be adopted
