He is a very nervous little bird who seems to dote on Sprout! I can't thank UKParrot Rescue enough for him! (Especially since my brain damage meant I had forgotten about this forum until I received an email just now!!) Anyone wanting photographs ought look at THIS POST on the UKParrot Rescue website.

I do want a "cuddly tame" larger parrot one day which has always been a dream of mine and I don't think either of my two will ever get to that stage (since Sprout seems to enjoy eating chunks of my flesh!!) but as my partner wants to get married (in the next five / six years - he is a great planner! He's at university at the moment and I'm only an engineer assistant so it'll take us that long to save up some money to pay for a wedding!!) any thoughts of expanding the family ought probably be put on hold!!

not 100 % true, in fact I have a Luntino fischer love bird that is so tame and I have had a lutino peach face love bird that was so tame that I used to lay them on their backs and kiss their belly, still do with the fischer love bird, named pugsley. I also hand fed him for his last week of hand feeding. he is such a big suck and wants to be with mummy most of the time. As for being loud, yes they are, but fischer tend to less louder then your peach face love birds do.

Re: looking for love birds

Hi,

I hope you can help.

I am interested in purchasing a pair of lovebirds to keep as pets in a large cage in the home but I'm looking to buy the following:

2 Fischers - 1 male, 1 female
Young hand reared birds

I wonder if you could put me in touch with a breeder who could help with this.

I'm looking to get them before Christmas as a present to myself.

I live in greater london.

Many thanks in advance

Try putting an ad in 'Birdtrek' ...it's free and a lot of hookbill breeders on there.
