Smile Timmy and Daisy, parrotlets for sale!

Hello, I'm new on here. I'm in Salford, Manchester by the way....

(Not just advertising then leaving so hope to speak to some of you more!)

I bought my parrotlets August last year from a pet shop, it's a nice pet shop I got Tamba my corn snake from there. I wanted one male so I could tame him and have a little feathery companion. I'd already read up on these little (big personality) birds and bought books etc. My OH rang the shop and there were 3 left. Timmy and Daisy and a male. However, when I went into the shop someone had already bought the male! They were only so many parrotlets in the shop which went quickly. I had my heart set on buying so after much deliberation I bought the two. They had already bonded so I couldn't say no!

Anyhow, I've tried my level best to try and bond myself, Daisy is a little more becoming than Timmy but, as I found through further research they stick together! They are a lot noisier than I thought lol being two of them it's expected I suppose. They are around 10-12 months old I think probably older and I have seen them...at it lets say! courtship behaviour etc. I don't really know much about breeding and they seem keen to do so. I haven't put in any nesting boxes or anything. My little girl is showing a real interest in them and I think it would be an education for her to help me tame and train a bird to be part of the family!

Maybe it was silly of me to buy two but the main reason I wanted a bird is so I could tame it! I would like a male cockatiel (just one) so therefore I'm letting my parrotlets go.

Sorry for the long, long post!

I would like to keep the cage so it's the birds only.

I'm not selling for the money but I do need something to go towards. I'm open to good offers!

Thankyou
Melissa

Re: Timmy and Daisy, parrotlets for sale!

Hello, they are green celestial parrotlets (norms) I had them out of the cage yesterday and they were well behaved, just climbing around the cage. Normally they fly around everywhere so they are getting better.

I have had a reply from pre loved off someone wanting to swap with a male one year old tiel. Trouble is it is from an aviary so I'm not keen, plus I really wanted someone from here to sell or swap as from what I can see people are serious about the ads and care about what they buy.

I do need help finding a young tiel, I've got the parrots for dummies book and I've read articles and people on forums have said male tiels are easier to tame and they are more vocal etc Money isn't really an issue however I don't want to be paying silly prices. I was looking to sell my two for around 30.00.

I'll pm you my email if you are still interested

Re: Timmy and Daisy, parrotlets for sale!

I did do research, I've had animals before. I'll hold my hands up and say I was impatient, once I get something on my mind it won't go and that day I went to buy parrotlets! I'm not selling to just anyone either, I want to make sure they go to a good home. I in turn are giving a loving home to a cockatiel.

They are well looked after and I will keep them and carry on doing so if they don't go to the right home.

Re: Timmy and Daisy, parrotlets for sale!

Just to bump this one up a little. If there is anyone that has an Aviary or can accomodate Timmy n Daisy please let me know. I tried two other places as well as here to advertise but I've found no-one suitable as yet.

Re: Timmy and Daisy, parrotlets for sale!

where are you? my grandfather is in norfolk and has an array of aviaries... do they need their own or can they share with other species?

He keeps

lovebirds
cockatiels
budgies
canary's
finches (lots and lots of different types lol)
lorrakeets (SP?)
rosellas

all in all a fairly large set up. let me know if you think this would be suitable.
