help and advice needed

How can i stop my cockatiel being aggressive towards my hubby and kids...charlie is 6yrs old and ive had him for just over 3 yrs.his tame with me and loves to have cuddles and kisses with me.i think he thinks of me as his mate thats why he doesnt like hubby/kids.but really need to do something about it.was thinking about getting another cockatiel (female) but not sure as been told that i would more than likely lose the bond i have with charlie..so dont really know what to do so any help/advice would be most grateful.x

Re: help and advice needed

Sorry just catching up on your threads.

Do you let your family give Charlie food and sort his cage out sometimes? If not let them do it for a while, then he will see you are not his only provider.

Find out what his favourite treats are and get them to feed them to him through the cage bars.

If he goes to bite them put him back in his cage just for a couple of minutes, he will then realise this behavour is not acceptable.

Good luck

Re: help and advice needed

hi again thanks for your help sorry its taken a while for me to get back but sprained wrist(painful!!) so havent been on pc.
yes hubby and kids already feed charlie in fact charlie always go to hubby when his having his tea and his more than happy to sit with hubby and son but they cant touch or get charlie to go onto their hand and he will beak(has bitten)at them. charlie will sit with daughter only whens she's eating something and does fly at her when she comes into the room!. i am the only one who changes his drink/food in cage so will try letting hubby/kids do it instead.just really need to sort things as love charlie to bits but dont like his behavour towards hubby/kids..it needs to stop.
