Times your bird completely cheers you up.
So there I was, today, having a really bad day. College was being stressful, got into an argument with my roommate, I was angry and frustrated with myself, trying not to lose it. Then, I go to my room to try and relax and there's my Meyer's Parrot, Fred hanging upside-down in his cage making his low buzzy noises as usual. I ignored him because I was feeling bitter, and just droned myself out into my laptop. There I got into an argument with my girlfriend on Facebook, found out I was going to be losing some of my funding for my college next semester, and I found myself slowly sinking into a more negative mood. Then, my bird makes a loud squealing noise. I decide to let him out of his cage out of frustration, but as I reached my hand in, he grabbed hold of my hand with his beak, pulled himself down to perch, and whistled at me sweetly. He almost never whistles, and something about the way he acted today really cheered me up.
I don't know what it is, it's like animals know how stressed we can be sometimes and they just want to make us happy. I really don't know if he understood the mood I was in, but i was grateful for him today and felt bad for ignoring him earlier. Have any of you ever had an experience like this?
