General advice to a new tiel owner
Rescued my tiel a year ago and although she really does not like to be petted (have tried and will keep trying) she has started to trust me enough to come out of her cage and go back in (all under her own steam after doing a couple of laps of the room!). She now spends 95% of her time out of her cage (normally sitting on it or climbing round it!) and roosts on top of it at night.
Last night she was very alert and was chirping away at about 8 to 8.30 pm, she then flew round the room a couple of times and then for the first time ever she flew towards me and went to land on the arm of the chair (she went to and then took off again!), then she did the same but went to land at my feet on the floor - but again took straight off again. She then settled on her cage and roosted!
She did not seem distressed at all (and was not screaming) but being a newish tiel owner I am now wondering if she is OK or if something was upsetting her (I would hate to think that she is unhappy in any way).
Any comments, ideas would be appreciated.
