Hi, I am new on this bird forum however I have been on the dog forum a bit. We were going to get a family dog however we have now decided not to for a while as we are getting another baby parrot.

We currently have a YC amazon who is 4 years old. She (??) is extremely tame with me, and will tolerate being picked up by a few other people, but is definately mummys bird. She has a large montana hacienda cage in the dining room, but spends most day time hours on her homemade playtree in the living room as it is the most used room in the house and she is a show off lol. She loves to sing, and play hard, and says quite a few words. She loves all toys, and doesnt really shy away from anything. I dont work so she isnt left alone for long periods, but we feel that she would benefit from having a friend. We did have another ammie but she went on holiday with Echo to a relatives in June, and didnt come back as she decided she liked her new ppl better!!! She was a rescue bird and has never been tame with me, so if she found someone who she trusted, I wasnt going to argue. But now Echo is on her own. As much as she is a people bird, I think she would love bird company so we are looking into getting her a baby friend.

Would love to hear from other ppl with parrots. We are in Somerset.
