Zebras breed very well in breeding cages. In fact, that's how I first came to breed them along with Bengalese Finches.

They bred like mice in them. Although that's no excuse to cram your birds into little boxes. Often people will say they must be happy if their breeding. My experience is that many animals will still breed inspite of their environment.

Re: Zebras

I have got them into pairs with 1 nest box,Foreign Finch Mixture grit, Fresh water (Daily) and hay and straw as nesting material they have been together for 3 days and nest boxes are still empty the minute. Would u recommend changing anything or leaving them as they are ?

Re: Zebras

Put the nestboxes in from the start they will get used to them then.Better if they can be hung on the outside of the cage though...gives the birds more room, and easier to examine contents without disturbing the birds too much.
