walking the dog with a wheelchair

Hi everyone

Just wanted to pick your brains.
My husband is a very active paraplegic wheelchair user.
He would really like to take our yorkshire terrier out for a walk, what he really needs is a little pole attachment to connect the lead to, so our dog walks out slightly to the side instead of in front so my husband dosen't run him over!
Any ideas?

Re: walking the dog with a wheelchair

I have no idea if this is any good, but my wheelchair using friend has a chair which has wheels that are similar to bike wheels (large, slim wheels) and this is for attaching a dog to a bike...so would something like this work?
WalkyDog - The Dog Lead which attaches to your Bike

Re: walking the dog with a wheelchair

That's what I was going to suggest, but was too late!

I saw an accident once where someone was walking her dog on a mobility scooter with nothing to stop the dog getting too close. Her dog lunged out, the scooter kept going and the lead caused the dog to be pulled into the back of the scooter, knocking a tooth out.
