Smile Guide Dogs

I just wanted to share how amazing guide dogs are
I'm registered blind although I have a little sight. Before I got my guide dog I was painfully shy and scared to go out alone. Having Nash really boosted my confidence, I could travel and meet people with ease and EVERYONE wants to talk to you when you have a big friendly lab by your side!
Unfortunately I don't currently own a guide dog as Nash had to retire and I felt like now wasn't the right time to get a new one since I can't work at the moment due to other health problems. However when I can return to work I will definitely be applying for another! In the mean time I have my pet dog Tribble to keep me company
I'm still a much more confident and happy person than before I had Nash and I can't thank Guide Dogs enough.
If anyone has any questions about guide dogs, feel free to ask

Re: Guide Dogs

My sister has a guide dog. She has a fair amount of sight but just having the dog with her is a huge help. She travels all over the place.

Re: Guide Dogs

I'm a puppy walker for Guide Dogs, and I have to say, the only way we can let the little monsters go after a year of looking after them is the fact we know they're going to change lives. I'm glad they've helped you so much. Makes me know I want to keep doing it

Re: Guide Dogs

I had the privelidge of seeing some of these wonderful dogs at the GDB centre if Forfar. What wonderful conditions these dogs were kept in and they all looked so happy! I asked if there was any reason they were mostly labs/goldies and asked if it was because they were so intelligent. the staff all burst out laughing and said it was because goldies/labs will do anything for food!

I'm so glad your dog made such a difference to your life and hope it won't be too long till you get another (Tribble looks adorable, BTW!!)
