wild lizards in britain?

Hey guys, i just saw what looked like a non-native lizard down the street from my house... wooded area with lots of ponds, grassy areas and dense bush.

i've looked at pics of native reptiles and none of them look like the wee guy i just saw but i can't see any pics of him on google either. i couldn't take a photo but...

he was about 5 inches long, slim and unform abit like a pencil with no tummy bulge, he was emerald green (same colour as the grass) with a dark stripe either side (black or dark brown) of his spine, he had a wedge shaped head that went straight into his neck (no differenciation/segmentation). his tail was medium? not stubby or whip-like and in proportion to his body again no segmentation detail.

He wasn't a skink or geeko as the body, tail and feet weren't right. he had no really visible dots or markings on his body apart from the stripes, so really didn't look at all like a common or sand lizard.

i don't think it was a juvenile of any of our lizards as it would involve a major change in body geometry for it to look like any adult natives, that i've seen pics of.

i've seen them before but i think it was in spain or somewhere like that. he was well cute. any ideas what he might be?
