Re: Whippet WANTED in the kent area
It depends on the dogs Mikey and Flash were only seperated for a couple of months as their owners first had Flash and then had Mikey a few months later. They did have a few squabbles before Trixie arrived but nothing serious. Since Trixie has been there Mikey has go very dominant towards Flash. I think it could have been nipped in the bud but Mikey has been allowed to get very dominant. He is now being rehomed. In fact I will be accompanying his owners in taking him to a new home this weeekend. Yes they are whippets and yes I did breed all 3.
My 2 stud dogs have been known to clash over a bitch normally if she is due in season but it was stopped before it was allowed to get serious and now they are fine even when the bitches are in season. I think it can depend also on the owners. If they do not allow this kind of behaviour things will be ok. Mikey and Flash's owner has fone everything they can but are worried about the dogs getting together when they are not at home. They don't like the idea if using a crate all the time they want the dogs to live happily together without having to worry all the time which is why Mikey has now found a lovely home.
Having bitches and dogs together at home I have found that a bitch will always be the dominant one.
