You give them raw. If you cook bones there's a danger of them splintering as your dog chews on them.

At first I gave Otto his bones before his evening meal to make sure I had a way to distract him long enough to get the bone back, but after the first couple he started leaving his bones once he'd stripped them of tastyness!
