My rabbits used to live in a house that had a perspex window and it was fine- make sure it is thick though as I had a thin sheet which cracked in winter and then Sugar managed to knock it out and made a bid for freedom - luckily my mum saw and caught him!

The wire mesh emzy mentioned with the plastic coating is good as foxes can't bite through it...but rats can get through the gaps which is something to be aware of. I used to have this on my run though and it was fine but thinner stuff on the bottom so it was kinder on their feet and eventually I turfed over the wire. If you have a rat problem then you can buy thick steel wire which i've also used in the past.
