Re: Where to start

What breed is Bramble?

Medium sized dogs have to be a minimum of 1 year of age before they can start agility training. They can start competing at 18 months.

Larger breeds should ideally start training at about 18months and competing a bit later.

Basically what is essential for agility is good basic obedience and offlead control.

A solid wait command, recall, sit, down and all the basics plus a general keeness to work is what is needed.

Depending on the age of your dog, I would really get going on basic obedience, take him to classes just have lots of fun.
If you want to do agility, positive reinforcement methods is a must (as it should be with any dog IMO) to ensure you have a great relationship with your dog.

Hope this helps- any more questions just ask
