I know someone that bred GSD's for 40 years. She didn't hip scored because she had never had a problem with any of the pups bred. Then one of the puppies she sold was diagnosed with HD. The new owners were told by their vet they could sue the breeder under the sale of goods act because the parents were not hip scored, and the puppy was not 'fit for purpose'. They did sue and got £20000.
She had the parents hip scored and discovered the sire had a high score, he showed no signs of this.
Just a warning to be careful
