Ok first I would say, that as you are not quite sure the way things work and the time scale... Don't breed from her this season, go out and buy the ''book of the bitch' and study as hard as you can about breeding.
Being thrown into the deep end, with an 8 week pregnant dog, I wished I had known alot more! it's not east so I honestly suggest you have as much info on breeding, pregnancy, mating etc waay before its time.

Also making sure your dog has had al the necesary health tests and choosing a stud dog who's had all the necesary tests too
