We gave up on collars. My mother has 2 cats, one is 9 and one is 2. The 2yr old used to wear a collar as a kitten with no problem until she saw how the 9 year old used to flick hers off with her paw. Then she started copying her!

I lost track of the number of cat collars that our neighbours used to bring back to us or pop through the letter box.
