I did have one experience of a BYB. Not quite as in your face as yours, but I was put off by them from the start. They smelt bad! (Literally).
They came round late wanting two kittens, smelling of fags and booze and slurring their words. They wanted a male and female, would be keeping them outside together, wouldn't breed them, but wanted to know what would happen if these litter mates did have kittens.

Once they'd finished visiting they called and said they would take both but wanted a discount. They offered £700 for them both - their prices were £450 each so they wanted a £200 discount.
I politely declined.
