Re: Newbie Here
When you type a reply you will see a yellow button along the top of the box you are typing in. If you hover over that it should say 'insert image'. Click that and it will give you a box where you insert the URL of your image - only any good if your picture is on the internet.
Some queens can do the work just fine - others need a helping hand - which you see more commonly with certain pedigree breeds (like the Bengal!). I would be with her if at all possible.
In the 24 hours leading up to the birth you will find that she will start to look for somewhere dark, warm and private. This will be different from the nesting behaviour she would have displayed in the last couple of weeks of pregnancy. The birthing box may not be what she wants to use so a little gentle persuasion may be needed. My last queen gave birth in her own bed but had to have a blanket over her to make her feel secure enough to give birth, even in a darkened room!
Make sure the birthing box is somewhere quiet and tucked away in a corner. You'll probably find she'll want to give birth somewhere you least expect or want it! As long as the area is easily reachable, and clean I don't see a problem with it.
