They should be at least a year before you start training its pretty high impact and the jumping excetra could damage their joints and to compete they have to be 18 months.

But you can start the basics from any age - a good strong wait is essential, teach them to turn to the right and left on command.
If you wanted to get them used to the equipment, place poles on the floor for them to step over. Don't get them to jump or weave though as this could damage the growing bones etc.

You'll have great fun.
