A labrador pup will probably cost between £400 and £600 and a poodle pup is more like £600 to £800. Cockerpoos seem to go for around £600 and labradoodles are sometimes far more. I think that all those prices are ridiculous but then I dont earn much money so I cant afford it. I actually said that the designer dogs are often twice what their purebred parents would be, not the other way round. I have seem lhasa's advertised for £400 and lhasa cross poodles for far more than that, same with the cavaliers. And jack russel crosses.
Most breeders probably dont want to breed crosses but some do and why on earth should it be a crime to make money out of it. It is an expensive and time consuming hobby/business so the pups have to cost money.
Sequeena, why do you think designer breeds will end up in rescue any more than pure breeds. Staffies and lurchers seem the most common so should they not be bred any more by enthusiasts or maybe breed them but give them away so no one has risked wasting money on them when they are fed up with them. And lurchers are a crossbred or often a good old mixed mongrel but no one objects to calling them by their generic name.

I agree somewhat they have been around since the 70's but what gets me is why no breed standard as such ????? because imo to many people jumping on the "in fashion" so lets breed and make some money never mind that in the litters the pups are all different. As for the rescue of these so called designer dogs well thats all for another thread!!!!
