Hi
The first thing you can't force it , I put my 2 kits in the spare room with a dog gate on the kits felt safe the dogs could not get to them it was about 2 weeks the kits could come out any time and get away if things got to much . at night the dogs were in with me and the kits ran riot in the house it does take time and it worked for me now all best of friends .
my problem is when I open the door for the dogs to go out the kits are always first .
